The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has a requirement for a construction firm to remove obstructions in the helipad glide path at the reconstruct the New Embassy Compound (NEC) Baghdad, Iraq. The construction effort is estimated at between $100,000 and $250,000 and needs to be completed within 56 days from Notice to Proceed. This requirement requires demolition, masonry, locksmith and electrical type work to be executed.
All firms who respond to the solicitation must be technically qualified and financially responsible to perform the work. At a minimum, each Offeror must meet the following requirements when submitting their proposal:
- Be able to understand written and spoken English;
- Have an established business with a permanent address and telephone listing;
- Have the necessary personnel, equipment and financial resources available to perform the work;
- Have all licenses and permits required by local law;
- Meet all local insurance requirements;
- Have the ability to post adequate performance security, such as irrevocable letters of credit or guarantees issued by a reputable financial institution;
- Have no adverse criminal record;
- Have no political or business affiliation which could be considered contrary to the interests of the United States;
- Have good experience and past performance records; and,
- Have specialized experience and technical competence required to execute the work in accordance with this solicitation.

The American Embassy in Belgrade intends to award a fixed-price contract for the installation of approximately 1,500m2 of carpet squares. If you are interested in submitting a quote, please download the invitation letter and solicitation document(s) and follow the enclosed instructions. The site visit/prepoposal conference will take place at 10:00 on July 22, 2008 at 11:00. Participants will meet at the New Embassy Compound East Service CAC on Al Khindi Street (closest entrance to the Freedom Restaurant checkpoint). You must submit a Site Visit Registration form to BaghdadGSOProcurement@state.gov no later than 12:00 on July 21, 2008.
