Consular Section

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy provides a variety of services for American citizens and citizens of Iraq, including the issuance or amendment of U.S. passports, notarial services, birth reports for children of American citizens born in Iraq, voter registration, emergency services, and registration with the Embassy of Americans residing in or visiting Iraq.

The Consular Section is working to make visa processing available to the general public in Iraq as soon as practicable. An official announcement will be made regarding the commencement of visa services.

The Consular Section has moved to the New Embassy Compound
Please enter through the Consular Portal off of Al Kindi Street. Note that weapons are not allowed in the Consular waiting room, and there is no parking available in front of the Embassy. DoD and DoS badge holders can use the KBR red or green shuttle which picks up at the PX parking lot and drops off in front of the Consular Portal.
